Cooling Options with Radiant
Not too long ago if you wanted cooling in a radiant heated house, you would need to either buy a redundant and costly ducted forced air cooling system, use whole house fans or swamp coolers – or do without.
Gas or oil fired radiant systems that require cooling can now use super efficient mini-split systems for spot cooling or, again, go to a whole house cooling system (expensive).
Another option is to use a geothermal or air-to-water hydronic heat pump that generates chilled water that can be used for cooling. This chilled water can be distributed in different ways.
