Thermalboard is similar to Ecowarm RadiantBoard but has significant construction differences.
Ecowarm RadiantBoard is constructed of ¾” thick plywood available with FSC sustainability certification with grooves 12” OC accommodating ½” PEX radiant tubing. The RadiantBoard is laminated with aluminum twice the thickness of Thermalboard with aluminum in the straight board grooves. Thermalboard is constructed of 5/8” thick MDF composite board with grooves 8” OC accommodating 3/8” PEX radiant tubing. Thermalboard employs three types of boards approximately 18” x 48” each, while Ecowarm RadiantBoard uses two types of boards approximately 24”x 47.5” each.
The performance of the two products is very similar. While Ecowarm RadiantBoard has thicker aluminum laminate increasing heat transfer capacity, Thermalboard has tubing closer together requiring less distance for the heat to travel.
Thermalboard is about 30% less expensive than Ecowarm RadiantBoard. Both can be purchased factory direct.
